Veteran music composer Bappi Lahri is making a big comeback with Ram Gopal Verma’s ‘Sholay’. He made the announcement during his birthday celebration a couple of days ago. Bappi da said that RGV asked him to compose three songs for the film of which he has already recorded two. Though he has missed out on the coveted ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’ number to choreographer Ganesh Hegde, Lahri is upbeat and calls this as his comeback as a composer.

Bappi Lahri the singer already made his presence felt this year with a song each in ‘Taxi No 9 2 11’ and Rahman’s forthcoming ‘Guru’. But he owes his revival in a big way to the popular kiddie show ‘L’ll Champs’ on Zee TV where he was one of the soft spoken judges to the hard nosed Abhijeet and sober Alka Yagnik. Incidentally Bappi Lahri’s music for two of Bachchan’s big hits ‘Namak Halal’ and ‘Sharabi’ still carry the same nostalgic value. Although Big B is playing the villain, but Bappi da must be considering this as his good fortune that he is making a comeback with an AB film.
